The British Biathlon Union is a Not-For-Profit Company, Limited by Guarantee, operating on behalf of its Members under the terms of its Articles of Association.
The aim is to operate a typical two-tier structure with an Executive Management team running the organisation day to day under the guidance and supervision of a Board of Directors. However, the present small size of the organisation means that the Board cannot yet fully delegate all the executive management functions and/or some of those functions do not yet exist.
Nevertheless, the Board is confident that adequate governance is in place and it is fully accountable to the Members who meet at least once a year at the Annual General Meeting. This is held each year in late January/early February at the British Championships – normally in Ruhpolding, Bavaria.
We advocate an open, transparent and inclusive approach to our members and supporters so that, as well as publishing the required Notices and Minutes of the AGM (and General Meetings) we also publish minutes of all Board meetings.
