Although the favourite Martin Fourcade of France won the 10 km Sprint in Oslo this morning, the eyes of Norway, (and the Biathlon world) were on Norway’s 42 year old Ole Einar Bjorndalen. He did not disappoint and was runner up, 22 years after his first ever WC podium 2nd place! in third was Ukraine’s Sergey Semenov, who, like the leading two shot clear.
For GBR Marcel Laponder (0-2) finished 90th and Scott Dixon 91st, thus both miss out on Sunday’s Pursuit.
There will also be no Women’s Pursuit for GBR with Amanda Lightfoot finishing 81st (1-2). Eight nations were represented in the top ten and the race was won, by Tyril Eckhoff of Norway.
